They involve helping the in your local community, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, training for and completing an expedition
For Gold only, working with a team on a residential activity is an extra requirement.
The DofE’s a life-changing adventure you don’t want to miss. It’s about going the extra mile – learning new skills for work and life, getting fitter, making a difference and broadening your horizons. Millions of young people in the UK have already done their DofE. Now it’s your turn.
Doing DofE Silver will give you skills, confidence and an edge over others when you apply for college, university or a job. You’ll develop communication, leadership and teamwork skills as well making a difference to other people’s lives and your community. You’ll also go on an exciting expedition and make memories to last you a lifetime.
All DofE Awards are looked on very highly by UCAS and employers, and a recent survey showed that employers regard DofE second only to exam passes. The Gold Award is the culmination of the range of Awards and is particularly highly regarded because of the time and effort it requires to complete.
